Pre-school education focuses more on the child’s personality development. Language learning during pre-school years should naturally take this prerequisite into account! In this seminar we will look at the five domains that contribute to the child’s personality development and how we aim to reinforce this through language activities for pre-school children, providing the environment that fosters language awareness, sets the foundation for further development in language learning.

Using readers in the EFL classroom exposes students to authentic material and expands language awareness. Literature encourages interaction, as the texts can be effectively exploited for discussions and sharing feelings or opinions. The use of classroom readers also serves to educate the whole person by examining values and attitudes in literary texts which relate to the world outside the classroom. The freedom to read is a blessing and it is our duty as teachers to instil in our students love and respect for literature.
